COLLECTIBLES

A place to understand this collection and, if you choose, to take part. Play with each piece to see exactly how it works, and only if it comes to mean something to you, go to its contract and act. Nothing here rushes you, because these pieces are made to last on the chain, not to be flipped in a day.

Yes, these are NFTs, but there is no app to learn and nothing to master. Each piece is its own small contract on Ethereum, with one plain rule for how it is owned and handed on. You read a piece here, you understand its rule by playing with it, and when it means something to you, you act, either from this page with a wallet or straight on the contract. What you do then stays on the chain for good, and that is the whole point.

Three pieces, one seat

Ratchet, Pyre and Lineage share a price that only rises, and a single seat. Whoever holds it owns the work and gets their stake back when the next buyer takes the seat, with a gain on Ratchet and at break-even on the other two. What differs is where the climb goes, so choose how much more the next buyer pays and send them in, while Lineage ignores their greed and steps only by a fixed amount.

Ratchet

The seller keeps the gain.
the seller keeps the gain, less a 5% tithe on the rise to the Vault, so no price is ever faked for free

Lineage

The seller keeps their name.
the seller breaks even; the fixed step funds the Vault; your name stays engraved

Pyre

The seller keeps nothing.
the seller only breaks even; the rise burns, gone forever
Send a buyer who pays

Tug

One colour, pulled by every hand.

A single colour, shared by all. A stroke pulls it one eighth toward yours. Tap a colour and pull, again and again. Every real stroke on chain is written down forever.

set the number:

Ask

Always on sale. You price it, and you pay to hold it.

You set the number. It is your asking price and it is the work itself, shown large. Anyone can buy it from you at that number, at any moment, so you cannot bluff: price it low and it is cheap to take; price it high and it is a flex, but you carry the boast. Each year, five percent of your number streams to the Vault, whatever you set, so an idle high price bleeds and an honest one barely costs. This is an exact fork of the Harberger mechanic, an homage to Simon de la Rouviere's This Artwork Is Always On Sale. Type a number and watch the yearly toll.

By Me

A price that falls for ten years.

A ten-year auction from a million ETH toward nothing. Drag across the decade and watch it fall. No one owns it until someone buys, and buying stops the clock.

Fork

The more it's wanted, the more it multiplies.

Each purchase mints a new numbered edition, yours to keep forever, and the next one costs a little more. Mint a few and watch it grow. The only piece where what you take stays yours.

Art

The face of the collection, chosen by the collection.

No one decides how the work looks, not even the author. Anyone may propose a renderer, a new way to draw the whole collection, and the people who minted Fork endorse it. Thirty Fork editions behind a face adopt it for the whole collection at once, though each piece keeps its own distinct look; sixty seal it forever. Fork costs ever more to mint and can never be burned, so a quorum is a real, committed stake, and if too few endorse, more simply have to be minted. Until then, every piece draws itself. Add endorsing editions and watch the collection re-skin, then seal.

Bequeath

Never sold, only given.

It cannot be bought. The holder hands it to whoever they choose. Give it a few times and watch it pass. If it sits untouched for six months, anyone may claim it, so it lives by being given.

The heart that keeps it alive

Proof of Life is the heart of the collection, and it is what keeps the work alive over the years instead of letting it fade.

life

Proof of Life, and the Echo

A heart anyone can seize. Keep it beating, or let it pass.

Beat the heart and watch the pulse reach every piece; it feeds each one a little, and none of it can ever be taken back out. Echo keeps the collection findable, so it stays alive long after the noise fades.

Mine

The hidden tenth.

It cannot be bought. It is minted, once, to whoever holds all nine other pieces at the same moment. Tap the nine to gather them, and watch the tenth appear. Soulbound: it can never leave the one who earned it.

Lost Vault

A sealed treasure that only grows.

Every fixed step from Lineage and every Fork mint flows here, and it only ever grows. It is locked by a hash whose key lives offline. One day it becomes Found, or it never does.

On chain

Each piece is its own contract on Ethereum mainnet, and its source is open for anyone to read. This page only reads them, so go to the source and see for yourself.
